We can see the impact that internet shopping is having on our High Streets. Is social media changing our lives even more, but in a less obvious way?
Join us to explore the impact and potential of social media, with experts who will help us range from the personal to the political, and the challenges facing our city.
David Wilcox – former planning correspondent for the London Evening Standard, exploring the role of social technology in local communities and networks since we first got the web in the 1990s. Co-founder of Communities Online UK, now developing London Networked City.
Charlene Sharp – Mainframe Events Manager at QUAD, has nearly 20 years experience working across radio, tv and events, creating content that went viral, and supported the launch of digital CBBC and CBeebies. Interested in building event communities – physically and digitally.
Tony Butler – Executive Director of Derby Museums since 2014, has over 20 years experience with museums. Tony is concerned about how museums can play a more active role in civil society, at a time of political, social and cultural polarisation.
